Prof. Mohamed Torbati

University of Southampton, United Kingdom

Mohamed Torbati is a Professor in Mechatronics Research Group. He completed his PhD in the Signal Processing and Control Research Group at the Institute of Sound of Vibration Research and since then has been involved in all areas of research, teaching and enterprise. His recent research activities have been mainly on energy harvesting and storage including efficient DC power generation from reciprocating mechanical motion, compressed energy storage, and the design of magnetic gears for energy harvesting. He has developed innovative technologies such as the Self-Reversing Screw Energy Harvester (SRS-EH) and the Regenerative Shock Absorber (SRS-RSA), for which he holds patents. He is currently the Deputy Head of School for Internationalisation.

Dr. Nu Rhahida Arini

Politeknik Elektronika Negeri Surabaya, Indonesia

Nu Rhahida Arini is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Energy in Politeknik Elektronika Negeri Surabaya (PENS). She teaches and conducts research in the fields of fluid mechanics, energy conversion, and renewable energy systems. Her work focuses on developing sustainable energy solutions for remote islands in Indonesia, including the design and evaluation of wind and tidal energy systems. Dr. Arini has led collaborative research projects with academic and industrial partners, including BP and the University of Southampton, and she actively engages students in hands-on learning and real-world engineering challenges. She has received national and international recognition for her contributions, including being a finalist for the Underwriters Laboratories ASEAN-U.S. Science Prize for Women 2023.

BTI Energy (PT. Bintang Terbarukan Indonesia)

Erlangga Bayu is the founder of BTI Energy (PT Bintang Terbarukan Indonesia), a renewable energy service company specializing in solar PV, and Electric Wheel (PT Roda Elektrik Gemilang), a certified electric vehicle conversion workshop. He holds an MBA from the Bandung Institute of Technology and has overseen the installation of more than 3 MWp of solar PV and manages over 12 MWp under O&M contracts across Indonesia. Since 2020, he has helped convert over 100 vehicles to electric power. His ventures have partnered with institutions such as IESR, New Energy Nexus, and WRI Indonesia, and he has supported hands-on renewable energy training in remote communities through the Australia Awards program. A sought-after speaker on renewable energy, sustainability, and energy transition, Erlangga is dedicated to driving innovation for a more secure and sustainable energy future.
